About The Position

This requisition is for an RTX intern converting to FT hire upon graduation. RTX is the world's largest aerospace and defense company, with 185,000 employees working to solve complex problems and advance skills in areas like aerospace and defense. RTX BBN Technologies (BBN) has a history of solving challenging problems through research, exploration, development, and prototyping. The Non-Kinetic Capabilities and Technologies team at BBN focuses on electromagnetic warfare (EW), communications, cybersecurity, cyberspace operations, networking, and RF domains for U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) and Intelligence Community (IC) customers. BBN is seeking creative, entrepreneurial, and highly motivated scientists, engineers, and developers to contribute to cutting-edge research projects for offensive and defensive cyber and EW operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, mathematics, or physics
  • Experience in creative programming skills using one or more of: C/C++ or Python
  • Experience with some assembly language (x86/64, ARM, PPC, MIPS, etc.)
  • Understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, wire-level protocols, BGP, RF communications, etc.)
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date
  • U.S. citizenship is required

Nice To Haves

  • Capture the Flag (CTF) experience
  • OS kernel development experience (e.g., Windows, Linux, MacOS, Android)
  • Reverse engineering skills using a tool such as IDA/Ghidra/BinaryNinja
  • Network programming skills
  • Hardware emulation experience
  • Working knowledge of RF signal processing and algorithm development
  • Hands on experience with system architecture design, prototyping, and technical project leadership
  • Active Security Clearance

Responsibilities

  • Develop next-generation cyber capabilities
  • Create or investigate new types of cyber physical systems
  • Develop exploits, implants, payloads, and communication stacks based on extensive reverse engineering, vulnerability analysis, and software development
  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to solve challenging problems and deliver actionable results
  • Operationalize software through extensive testing, documentation, and integration with other systems
  • Participate in laboratory and field tests to collect and analyze data, test new capabilities, and perform demonstrations
