Cybersecurity Engineering Intern
About The Position
In this role, your responsibilities will include collaborating with the Product Security team to enhance cybersecurity across Emerson’s product portfolio. You will assist in the development and implementation of secure coding practices, support efforts to meet regulatory compliance requirements, and participate in agile development processes. You will contribute to secure software/firmware development, communicate findings and recommendations through persuasive writing and effective verbal communication, and engage in empathetic thinking to understand user and stakeholder needs. You will learn and apply cybersecurity principles in a real-world product environment and work in a team-oriented setting, contributing to a collaborative culture.
Requirements
- Pursuing Bachelors in engineering
- Zero (0) years of applicable experience
- Legal authorization to work in the United States
- Ability to work full-time (40 hours) per week in-person
Nice To Haves
- GPA of 3.0 or above
- Prior internship experience
- An ABET-accredited engineering degree in Computer, Electrical, or Software Engineering or Computer Science is preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Understanding of basic security concepts such as encryption, secure software development, and regulatory compliance
- Student-level proficiency in a programming/scripting language such as C/C++, Python, PowerShell, etc.
