About The Position

This internship role focuses on enhancing cybersecurity across Emerson’s product portfolio by collaborating with the Product Security team. Interns will assist in developing and implementing secure coding practices, supporting regulatory compliance efforts, and participating in agile development processes for secure software/firmware. The role involves communicating findings, thinking empathetically to understand needs, learning cybersecurity principles in a real-world product environment, and contributing to a team-oriented, collaborative culture.

Requirements

  • Pursuing Bachelors in engineering
  • Zero (0) years of applicable experience
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States
  • Ability to work full-time (40 hours) per week in-person

Nice To Haves

  • GPA of 3.0 or above
  • Prior internship experience
  • An ABET-accredited engineering degree in Computer, Electrical, or Software Engineering or Computer Science is preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Understanding of basic security concepts such as encryption, secure software development, and regulatory compliance
  • Student-level proficiency in a programming/scripting language such as C/C++, Python, PowerShell, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Product Security team to enhance cybersecurity across Emerson’s product portfolio.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of secure coding practices.
  • Support efforts to meet regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Participate in agile development processes and contribute to secure software/firmware development.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations through persuasive writing and effective verbal communication.
