About The Position

The Cybersecurity Intern supports ProPetro’s IT security team while gaining hands-on experience. The Intern works under the Information Security Manager and alongside a Cybersecurity Analyst to assist with security assessments, vulnerability tracking, documentation, and security awareness. The role also includes maintaining compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies by attending required training and safety meetings and using proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a degree in Cybersecurity, IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Basic knowledge of Windows, Microsoft 365, and networking.
• Eagerness to learn and ability to handle confidential information.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• Cybersecurity coursework, labs, or certifications such as CompTIA Security+.

Responsibilities

• Assist with risk and vulnerability assessments.
• Help track and document vulnerability fixes.
• Help review and update security policies and procedures.
• Support incident response and disaster recovery exercises.
• Work to resolve IT support tickets related to user access and cybersecurity.
• Research security threats and trends and share findings with the team.
• Help create security awareness content for employees.
• Report potential security concerns to the Information Security team.
• Maintain compliance with HSE policies by attending required HSE training sessions and safety meetings and using proper PPE.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
