About The Position

The National Cyber-Forensics & Training Alliance (NCFTA) offers a paid, intensive 12-week internship for rising college seniors and graduate-level students. Interns receive training and join a team from day one, with an assigned manager and mentor. The first few weeks include orientation to NCFTA resources, policies, and procedures. Interns work on organizational program initiatives involving research and data collection using various tools and applications, proactive open-source research, and preparation of finished products for dissemination. They collaborate with NCFTA partners and peers and participate in program meetings. Malware and Cyber Threats Program internships are more technical in nature and may include scripting to automate processes, analyzing malicious code, creating databases, and conducting technical threat-actor hunting and identity attribution to cybercriminals on dark web and clear net sites. Students with working knowledge of Mac OS may have an opportunity to work on special projects. Internships are available in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
