About The Position

RTX BBN Technologies (BBN) is seeking creative, entrepreneurial, and highly motivated scientists, engineers, and developers to join their Non-Kinetic Capabilities and Technologies team. This team leverages computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, math, and physics to tackle customer challenges in electromagnetic warfare (EW), communications, cybersecurity, cyberspace operations, networking, and RF domains for the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) and Intelligence Community (IC) customers. The intern will contribute to and grow cutting-edge research projects for offensive and defensive cyber and EW operations.

Requirements

  • Must be currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or related field.
  • Availability to work 40 hours per week during summer 2027.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
  • Active and existing security clearance required after day 1.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with C, C++, and / or Python.
  • Experience with reverse engineering using tools such as IDA/Ghidra/BinaryNinja.
  • Knowledge of security fundamentals (cryptography, confidentiality/integrity/availability, etc.).
  • Experience with signal processing fundamentals.
  • Experience in a Linux environment.
  • Ability to obtain a clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Develop next-generation cyber capabilities
  • Create or investigate new types of cyber physical systems
  • Develop exploits, implants, payloads, and communication stacks based on extensive reverse engineering, vulnerability analysis, and software development
  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to solve challenging problems and deliver actionable results
  • Operationalize software through extensive testing, documentation, and integration with other systems
  • Participate in laboratory and field tests to collect and analyze data, test new capabilities, and perform demonstrations
  • Overnight travel required for certain projects
