About The Position

Collect and transport classified waste material within the Washington Metropolitan area. This role involves loading, transporting, and unloading material, pulling material from collection areas, maintaining security in designated areas, and properly recording the weight and origin of classified waste. Incumbents may work in conditions requiring the operation of industrial machinery/power tools and motor vehicles. The role also requires walking, bending, squatting, and carrying materials, adhering to strict safety guidelines, and using Personal Protective Equipment. Lifting weights over 50 pounds requires assistance from two or more persons. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals to perform these functions.

Requirements

  • Able to obtain and maintain forklift certification.
  • Able to perform and function within a confined space.
  • Ability to comprehend written and oral instructions.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Possess and maintain a Top-Secret Security Clearance.
  • High school, technical school, apprenticeship, trade school graduate or equivalent required.
  • Ability to lift weight more than 50 pounds requires two or more persons.

  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Load, transport, and unload material.
  • Pull material from collection areas.
  • Maintain security in all designated areas.
  • Properly record weight and origin of classified waste.
  • Complete all training requirements and fulfill self-aid/buddy aid responsibilities.
  • Participate in emergency response tasks and serve on safety committees and teams.
  • Carry out job activities in compliance with applicable Amentum Quality System documents and customer contracts.
  • Read and understand Quality Management and Customer Satisfaction responsibilities.
  • Read, understand and implement the general and specific operational, safety, quality and environmental requirements of all plans, procedures and policies pertaining to his/her job.
