About The Position

Operates manufacturing equipment and participates in machining components to produce high-quality finished goods that meet or exceed customer specifications. Maintains equipment preventive-maintenance tasks, keeps the production line running, fixes short stops, and performs quality checks using calipers, height gages, and other digital gages. The role has no supervisory responsibilities. Regular and punctual attendance is required, and the employee must be flexible to work in any area of the operation and willing and able to work any shift.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Ability to read or listen to, comprehend, write, and present information in English.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
Ability to apply common-sense understanding to detailed instructions and solve problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Must complete a blueprint workbook.
Successful completion of the JTEKT Technician B Certification Program.
Ability to work overtime, which is an essential function of the position.
Ability to comprehend English and follow directions from a JTEKT team leader, supervisor, or manager.

Responsibilities

Follow standard work and Job Element instructions for each operation and produce quality parts.
Produce standard quantities after completing training.
Inspect safety equipment, including E-stops, safety lights, and PPE, before production start-up.
Observe machine operation to detect workpiece defects or machine malfunctions.
Measure workpiece dimensions to determine the accuracy of machine operation.
Perform minor preventive machine maintenance, such as oiling machines, and clean equipment and the work area.
Follow the non-conforming material procedure and notify the team leader when non-conforming material is found.
Maintain regular and punctual attendance and be flexible to work in any area and any shift.
Work in a fast-paced team environment without direct supervision and maintain a positive outlook in conversation and conduct.
Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
