About The Position

The CVICU/CVSD Nurse Educator supports high-quality patient care across the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) and the Cardiovascular Step-Down (CVSD) unit by educating and mentoring nursing staff. The Educator position is based on the needs of the patient and healthcare system. This role facilitates quality activities based on identified needs to enhance excellence in clinical practice, prioritizing these activities in accordance with patient, staff, and organizational goals and objectives. The Educator maintains standards of professional nursing, with a scope of practice encompassing the use of the nursing process in major areas: practice, education, consultation, and administration.

Requirements

• Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Illinois
• Master's degree required
• 3 – 5 years of experience Cardiac Critical Care
• Exhibits personal characteristics that enhance the effectiveness of the role, including effective interpersonal communication skills and a proactive approach to problem solving
• Active BLS through AHA required
