About The Position

Under direct supervision following established policies, procedures, and professional guidelines, this role assists in the cath lab by delivering care to patients pre, during, and post-procedure. The specialist assists the physician and CVTs in performing procedures such as catheterizations, interventions, electrophysiology, and implants. Responsibilities include implementing patient care, documenting patient assessments and procedure flow, identifying and reporting situations requiring intervention, communicating goals and the plan of care, and assuring patient rights. The position requires constant supervision and is responsible for performing job duties in accordance with the values of Tampa General Hospital.

Requirements

  • High school diploma.
  • Enrolled in a CVIS program or has equivalent hospital experience (scrub tech, respiratory therapy, radiology technology, echocardiography, or other experience to be reviewed for on-the-job training).
  • Two years of progressive clinical experience in a hospital.
  • Requires constant supervision.
