About The Position

Under direct supervision following established policies, procedures, and professional guidelines, this role assists in the cath lab by delivering care to patients before, during, and after procedures. The specialist will assist physicians and CVTs in performing various procedures, including but not limited to catheterizations, interventions, electrophysiology, and implants. Responsibilities include implementing patient care, documenting patient assessments and procedure flow, identifying and reporting situations requiring intervention, communicating goals and the plan of care, and ensuring patient rights. This position requires constant supervision and adherence to the values of Tampa General Hospital.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• Enrolled in a CVIS program or has equivalent hospital experience such as scrub tech, respiratory therapy, radiology technology, echocardiography or other experience to be reviewed for on the job training.
• Two years progressive clinical experience in a hospital.

Responsibilities

• Assists in the cath lab delivering care to patients pre, during and post procedure.
• Assists physician and CVTs in performing procedures such as catheterizations, interventions, electrophysiology and implants.
• Implements patient care.
• Documents patient assessments and flow of procedure.
• Identifies and reports situations requiring intervention.
• Communicates goals and plan of care.
• Assures patient rights.
