Cath Lab Technologist (In House Traveler Days) - CV Specialist
About The Position
This position is responsible for the technical application, scrubbing cases, assisting the physician from cardiac catheterization procedures performed on the adolescent, adult and geriatric patient in order to determine appropriate patient treatment. The Cardiovascular Technician is expected to adhere to the HHS policy, procedures, values and standards. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span, possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status, interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age specific needs and to provide the care needed as described in the unit's policies and procedures. The primary focus of the CCL is, but is not limited to, the following:1. Diagnostic cardiac catheterization and peripheral vascular procedures.2. Balloon angioplasty and other interventional cardiovascular procedures.3. IABP, temporary and permanent Pacemakers, and ICD Implants.4. Cardiac Cath Lab radiographic application This position is a 13-week assignment.
Requirements
- High School or GED
- ARRT or RCIS certification
- BLS certification
- ACLS certification (within 90 days)
Responsibilities
- Technical application of cardiac catheterization procedures
- Scrubbing cases during cardiac catheterization procedures
- Assisting the physician during cardiac catheterization procedures
- Performing procedures on adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
- Adhering to HHS policy, procedures, values, and standards
- Demonstrating knowledge of growth and development principles over the life span
- Assessing data reflective of patient status
- Interpreting information to identify patient age-specific needs
- Providing care as described in unit policies and procedures
- Performing diagnostic cardiac catheterization and peripheral vascular procedures
- Performing balloon angioplasty and other interventional cardiovascular procedures
- Performing IABP, temporary and permanent Pacemaker, and ICD Implants
- Performing Cardiac Cath Lab radiographic application
