About The Position

This role involves operating cutting lines and performing breakout tasks in a production environment. Employees may rotate between various production workstations based on operational needs. The position requires assisting production supervisors and leads, issuing instructions, examining work for accuracy, studying procedures to improve efficiency, maintaining harmony among workers, monitoring productivity, and assisting employees with work process problems. Specific tasks include transferring optimization data, selecting and checking cutting programs, monitoring the cutting head, and following breakout Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). The job also involves on/off-loading and sorting product, breaking away excess glass, attaching labels, notifying supervisors of issues, maintaining a clean work area, performing preventative maintenance (PMs) on equipment, and maintaining consistent metrics.

  • High School Diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Production Supervisor and Lead by identifying work procedures; prepare work schedules and expedite workflow.
  • Issue written and oral instructions.
  • Examine work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.
  • Study and standardize procedures to improve efficiency of workers.
  • Maintain harmony among workers and resolve grievances.
  • Monitor employees directly involved with productivity.
  • Assist employees with work process problems.
  • Transfer the desired optimization from the Clearpath PC to the Hegla.
  • As the glass is being retrieved, select the desired program in the Bystronic/Hegla to cut and check to see if the "grind" is on for any low e product.
  • Start the program and watch cutting head for oil and pressure.
  • Follow breakout SOP.
  • On/off-loading and sorting of the product from, tables, rolling racks, delivery trucks, or wood crates for eight or more hours, daily.
  • Breaking away excess glass by hand and/or with glass pliers.
  • Attaching appropriate labels and tags to products and packages.
  • Notifying the lead person or supervisor of any mechanical or material issues.
  • Maintaining a safe and clean work area (around cutting bridge and gantry area).
  • Perform necessary PMs on equipment.
  • Maintain consistent metrics (Ex: rejects, yeilds).
  • Regular and predictable attendance, safely perform tasks and adherence to all safety policies and procedures are essential functions of your job.
