About The Position

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY: Must safely set up and operate the machine according to the training program to acquire quality product at the desired target speed of each run. SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITY: Stock the machine with materials needed for set up and die working Tools on the machine are to be in their proper holding places, borrowed tools are to be returned once they are no longer needed. Locate issues that may occur mechanically to the machine as part of set up and while observing the machine while it is running. Effectively utilize any machine downtime (not including approved breaks) by assisting with set-up or performing other tasks associated with maintaining a clean work environment or as otherwise instructed by a supervisor. Communicates with other team members Wears appropriate PPE for the task and the area. Welcomes updates and improvements to processes and follows new procedures and innovations, which would add to the efficiency and safety of the operation Performs work in a manner that keeps down time to a minimum Mains a clean work environment in accordance with Food Safety and 5S systems Follows all safety related policies, rules, regulations, technical instructions, and guidelines. Use situational awareness and identify unsafe behaviors and conditions May be asked to help with duties in other areas or departments Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to utilize software.
  • Mechanical ability and skills.
  • Ability to read and understand documents, letters, etc.
  • Ability to write legibly in English.
  • Ability to understand and speak clearly, communicate, and understand directions in English as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Safely set up and operate the machine according to the training program to acquire quality product at the desired target speed of each run.

  • Ensure tools on the machine are in their proper holding places and return borrowed tools once they are no longer needed.
  • Locate mechanical issues with the machine during setup and while running.
  • Utilize machine downtime (excluding approved breaks) by assisting with setup or performing tasks related to maintaining a clean work environment or as instructed by a supervisor.
  • Communicate with other team members.
  • Wear appropriate PPE for the task and area.
  • Welcome updates and improvements to processes and follow new procedures and innovations.
  • Perform work in a manner that minimizes downtime.
  • Maintain a clean work environment in accordance with Food Safety and 5S systems.
