Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Six months of related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education or experience.
Effective interpersonal and customer service skills.
Good math skills, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
Sound judgment and decision-making skills.
Friendly, approachable, outgoing demeanor and ability to work as a team player.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Good oral and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with Microsoft Office Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

Demonstrate teamwork to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant working and shopping environment.
Provide friendly and efficient customer service, showing sincerity, patience, and respect in customer interactions and thanking customers for their business.
Greet customers throughout the store and assist them by escorting them to products, loading or unloading heavy items, and retrieving out-of-reach items.
Anticipate customer needs, communicate effectively, respond to questions, and resolve issues promptly to strengthen customer loyalty.
Oversee front-end operations to meet or exceed sales, profit, and labor goals through cost control, labor efficiencies, service, and shrink control; maintain front-end cleanliness, maintenance, and sanitation.
Determine work priorities and task lists to maintain adequate front-end conditions.
Ensure prompt and accurate customer checkout and that front-end associates follow company policies and applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
Train, monitor, and coach associates on front-end policies and procedures, including product, tender, and coupon handling, scanning-error procedures, and price checks, to reduce shrink and waste.
Communicate pricing and signage discrepancies to the pricing coordinator.
Provide backup coverage for the service operations manager in their absence, excluding hiring and discipline.
Maintain thorough knowledge of checkout transaction policies and procedures, operations, and bookkeeping; complete voids, refunds, daily exception reports, cash tender pickups, coin canister exchanges, and till and coupon audits according to company standards.
Operate equipment such as scanners, registers, scales, and check approval machines according to company standards.
Assist with front-end functions, including checkout transactions, stocking, bagging, cart collection, and cleaning.
Follow and reinforce food safety, sanitation, and safety regulations, guidelines, procedures, and programs in accordance with company requirements and applicable health codes.
Identify unsafe conditions and notify store management; report illegal activity.
