About The Position

We are seeking a Customer Solutions Director for Mission Critical Networks in Canada. The Mission Critical Networks (MCN) Solution Director is a senior technical leader supporting direct and indirect sales for mission-critical 4G/5G solutions. They act as a technology evangelist for 5G and 3GPP-based mission-critical communications, shaping customer vision, influencing technology and solution choices, and proactively driving technical engagements across public safety, defense, utilities, rail and other critical infrastructure verticals. The role bridges customers’ mission-critical application needs with Ericsson’s portfolio, securing both customer value and business growth. In this role you will be acting as the Core 3 Customer Solutions Responsible (CSR), you will partner with the Account Commercial Responsible (ACR), Customer Fulfillment Responsible (CFR), Canada CTO, Market area, and Business Area organizations to define technical strategy, solution evolution, and execution across the full Ericsson portfolio. This position is based in Mississauga, Ottawa, or Montreal.

Requirements

  • 7+ years in technology, solutions, and/or product management in telecom/ICT, with direct customer-facing responsibility; experience with mission-critical, Defense, utilities, or public safety engagements is strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated experience in wireless and comprehensive architectures, including RAN, Cloud, Core, IP, OSS, and BSS, and how they create value for communication service providers and public-sector customers
  • Preferably strong understanding of the Ericsson portfolio, with emphasis on Defense and Mission Critical Communications solutions and their application in the Canadian context
  • Knowledge of the Canadian telecom, Defense, and public-sector ecosystem, including procurement models, stakeholder structures, and long-cycle sales processes
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field required; Master of Engineering and/or MBA preferred
  • Advanced consultative selling skills across products, services, and managed services; ability to build compelling, customer-centric solutions and proposals
  • Executive-level communication and negotiation skills; ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders and clearly explain complex topics
  • Proactive, self-motivated, organized, and structured, with high accountability and an outcome-focused mindset in complex, fast-paced environments

Responsibilities

  • Support direct and indirect sales with MCN solution strategy, positioning and deal shaping for targeted customers and partners.
  • Act as trusted advisor and advocate for 5G and 3GPP mission-critical communications, articulating technology evolution, roadmap and value to technical and business stakeholders.
  • Proactively drive technical engagements (presentations, discovery, workshops, PoCs, trials), ensuring clear outcomes, next steps and linkage to sales opportunities.
  • Translate vertical-specific mission-critical use cases (e.g. public safety, defense, utilities, rail) into concrete end-to-end architectures and solution proposals.
  • Influence and orient technology and solution choices (RAN, Core, transport, security, MC applications, private/public/hybrid models) in line with Ericsson strategy and customer objectives.
  • Ensure proposed solutions meet stringent MC requirements: availability, resiliency, redundancy, security, QoS/priority/pre-emption, coverage and regulatory compliance.
  • Drive preparation of RFI/RFP responses, SoW, BoQ and design documentation in close collaboration with Sales, Commercial Management and Delivery.
  • Capture customer and vertical trends, visions, strategies, and requirements on mission-critical applications and operations to feed into portfolio evolution and reference solutions.
  • Mentor solution architects and technical sales teams on MCN best practices, architectures and vertical needs.
  • Assure customer awareness for implications of technology trends
  • Evaluate Ericsson´s current strategy & plans vs. customer’s strategic plans
  • Secure understanding of local market dynamics & competitive landscape
  • Co-lead strategic deals with the KAM/ACR by defining solution options, reducing
  • Provide accurate input to forecasts and pipeline reviews, highlighting technical dependencies, risks, and opportunities
