About The Position

The Customer Solution Director plays a critical role within Syntax’s SAP Pre-Sales practice, with a particular focus on AMS opportunities. This role leads the presales cycle from a solution and services design perspective, working closely with Sales leaders, Solution Architects, AMS leaders, and industry leads to develop tailored application management solutions. The ideal candidate combines strong functional SAP consulting experience with a service-oriented mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to translate client needs into practical, scalable AMS offerings that support long-term success.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of functional SAP consulting experience, ideally with exposure to AMS or application support environments.
  • Experience supporting SAP projects or service delivery in complex enterprise environments.
  • Strong communication and active listening skills, with the ability to understand client needs and respond effectively.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and manage competing priorities.
  • Strong client focus, with an emphasis on service quality, responsiveness, and long-term relationships.
  • Solution-oriented mindset with the ability to identify challenges and develop effective responses.
  • Experience collaborating across sales, presales, delivery, and support teams.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in proposal and presentation development.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting SAP AMS, application management, or managed services engagements.
  • Familiarity with enterprise sales cycles, RFP responses, and services-based solution selling.
  • Exposure to SAP S/4HANA and related modernization initiatives.
  • Ability to lead client workshops, site visits, and executive-level presentations.
  • Experience working with international teams in a managed services environment.
  • An appreciation for innovation, continuous improvement, and modern delivery approaches, including automation and AI-enabled services.

Responsibilities

  • Lead presales activities for assigned AMS opportunities in coordination with the VP of Presales and the AMS Presales Lead.
  • Maintain a consistent client presence throughout the sales cycle.
  • Participate in opportunity reviews and contribute to solution strategy and positioning.
  • Lead RFP responses, including proposal development and AMS bill of materials (BOM) preparation.
  • Organize and lead site visits, including agenda setting, team coordination, and execution.
  • Lead proposal review sessions and coordinate internal and client meetings as needed.
  • Prepare and present service demonstrations and solution presentations.
  • Prepare and present final presentations, including decision-support materials and DDA support where applicable.
  • Facilitate the transition from presales to AMS delivery and consulting teams through statement of work readiness.
  • Identify and communicate gaps or variances between the original proposal and evolving client requirements.
  • Collaborate with Account Executives and cross-functional teams to develop strategies that support business success.
  • Support solution design with emphasis on service scope, operational feasibility, support model alignment, and long-term client value.
  • Contribute to service governance discussions, transition planning, and ongoing engagement models.
