Customer Service Representative (Loan Consultant II)
About The Position
The Loan Consultant II provides an exceptional customer experience while offering personal loan solutions. The position builds a customer base through sales, loan extensions, and merchant referrals. Success is measured by customer experience, business generation, compliance, achievement of monthly goals, and accuracy. The role involves assisting customers in person and by phone, processing credit and employment verifications, handling payments and account activities, making loan recommendations and approvals within established lending limits, completing loan closings, marketing branch products and services, maintaining transaction and branch records, and supporting branch operations.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
- 2–4+ years of consumer finance or related experience.
- Cash-handling, computer, and customer-service skills.
- Ability to work with minimum supervision.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Excel, and Word.
Nice To Haves
- Associate or bachelor's degree.
- Bilingual Spanish/English.
Responsibilities
- Greet, assist, and solicit individuals who enter the office or call by phone.
- Receive and process credit and employment verifications and record the information obtained.
- Process payments and distributions and make recommendations regarding loan approvals.
- Approve loans up to established lending limits and complete loan closings.
- Handle collection account activities, including phone calls and face-to-face communications with customers.
- Prepare reports, correspondence, transaction documentation, and records; file documentation.
- Operate the cash drawer, process bank deposits, maintain records and balances, and close the branch.
- Actively market all branch products and services to individuals.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
