About The Position

R+L Carriers is seeking a Customer Service Representative to work at their Hagerstown, MD Service Center. The CSR is responsible for maintaining a positive relationship with customers and to assist customers and other R & L employees in tracking and monitoring freight movement. Our CSR’s use customer retention techniques to ensure customers feel valued and listened to, to resolve their issues, and promote company goals and objectives. R+L Carriers is a family owned, privately held transportation company founded in 1965. Their business caters to the transportation and distribution industry and is designed to provide customers with superior service through efficient administration and innovative thinking. Requirements

• Strong communication/telephone skills
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong critical thinking skills
• Ability to deal with potentially stressful situations
• General office and customer service experience
• Basic knowledge or Windows, Outlook and other Microsoft products
• Ability to type 30+ WPM

Nice To Haves

• 2+ years of experience as a clerk or similar role in a fast pace environment
• Freight logistics experience

Responsibilities

• Maintaining a positive relationship with customers
• Assist customers and other R & L employees in tracking and monitoring freight movement
• Use customer retention techniques to ensure customers feel valued and listened to, to resolve their issues, and promote company goals and objectives
• Daily freight tracing with customers
• Assisting other terminals in freight related issues
• Performing other related duties as assigned
