About The Position

Tyler Union, a division of McWane, Inc., is seeking a Customer Service Representative to manage client relationships and provide service to existing customers. This role involves significant daily work within the company’s CRM system, entering orders, and ensuring accurate and timely shipment. The position requires customer service both before and after the sale, acting as a customer advocate while supporting the Outside Sales team. This role operates in a collaborative remote team environment and requires proactive communication across distributed stakeholders. CSRs must use product knowledge to generate solutions that meet customer needs and company objectives. Success requires the ability to work independently with minimal supervision, manage priorities proactively, and maintain accuracy within CRM systems. This is a salaried non-exempt position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • 3-5 years of customer service or inside sales experience preferred
  • Highly self-directed, with the ability to independently manage priorities and make sound decisions with minimal oversight
  • Experience using CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar) strongly preferred
  • Experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment is highly desirable
  • Strong computer skills necessary, particularly Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Strong communication, organization, and people skills including the ability to communicate effectively with remote teams
  • Self-motivated, assertive individual who can thrive in a fast-paced environment with minimal oversight
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and handle multiple projects with attention to detail
  • Ability to work within a team atmosphere as well as independently in a self-directed environment
  • Excellent time management skills required

Responsibilities

  • Handle inbound calls from established customers regarding pricing and estimated delivery timeframe based upon knowledge of Tyler Union’s production and delivery schedules
  • Order entry; including new orders, changes to previous orders, return authorizations and credits
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer records and activities within the CRM
  • Serve as internal support for Outside Sales team, including quotations
  • Drive alignment across internal teams to ensure accurate and timely execution of customer orders
  • Investigate and resolve customer problems with deliveries while documenting activity in the CRM
  • Partner effectively with The Outside Sales Team to drive territory coverage and maintain positive distributor relationships through consistent communication and CRM visibility
  • Post-sale follow-through including communication with distributors to confirm expected delivery dates and back-ordered items
  • Accomplish department and organization goals by exploring new opportunities to add value to the CSR position and improve CRM data quality and processes
  • Work with Outside Sales to identify and develop strategies which support new and/or existing sales opportunities
  • Performs various other miscellaneous sales and service-related duties as directed by management
