About The Position

The Customer Service Representative position is a part-time role responsible for providing excellent customer service, maintaining store facility conditions, managing merchandising and stock, controlling sales and financial records, ensuring security, and performing administrative tasks. This role requires adherence to company standards, accurate transaction handling, and effective communication.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Experience in retail sales preferred.
  • Ability to accurately operate a variety of equipment including cash registers or scanners, hot or cold beverage dispensers, and other machines or tools.
  • Ability to work as scheduled, including arriving to work on time.
  • Ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand.
  • Ability to perform the four (4) basic arithmetic operations (add, subtract, multiply and divide) preferred.
  • Ability to perform essential duties and physical functions.
  • Ability to work in the described conditions.
  • Ability to be exposed to cold or warm temperature extremes, including occasional work in a walk-in cooler and/or freezer and outdoors.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or carry up to 30 pounds from ground to overhead.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds from ground to waist.
  • Ability to grasp, reach and manipulate objects with hands for the entire shift, requiring eye-hand coordination.
  • Ability to push/pull with arms up to a force of 20 pounds.
  • Able to reach overhead for objects.
  • Ability to bend and twist at the waist.
  • Ability to communicate orally.
  • Ability to operate a cash register and/or computer keyboard.
  • Ability to stoop, kneel, squat, bend, push, and pull.
  • Ability to work alone.
  • Ability to stand and/or walk for an entire shift.
  • May require climbing a ladder to store and retrieve materials or place and remove signs.
  • Perform approximately 95% of all work indoors, but will be required to clean parking lots, gas pumps, take out garbage, etc.
  • Exposure to extreme cold temperatures while performing occasional work in a walk-in cooler and/or freezer.
  • Exposure to occasional noise.
  • Work with minimum direction and periodic supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Provide prompt, excellent customer service in a courteous, friendly, and attentive manner.
  • Greet customers upon entry and thank them upon departure.
  • Offer assistance, suggestions, and recommendations to customers.
  • Accurately ring up sales using the cash register and handle various payment types.
  • Operate fuel consoles, lottery machines, money order machines, and telecom transactions.
  • Report to work on time and adhere to the dress and appearance code.
  • Maintain store facility cleanliness and equipment condition to company standards, including inside and outside areas.
  • Perform basic upkeep and cleaning of all store equipment.
  • Inspect store facilities and equipment for safety, cleanliness, and proper working order.
  • Notify the Store Manager of any equipment failure or maintenance/supply needs.
  • Complete build-to’s for ordering/purchasing merchandise.
  • Receive and verify vendor deliveries.
  • Maintain adequate stock levels and supplies in counter areas, rotating stock properly.
  • Place advertising and pricing signage inside or outside the facility.
  • Control merchandise, cash shortages, and other selling expenses.
  • Assist in maintaining proper inventory levels and shift audits.
  • Keep accurate cash, sales, and inventory control records and account for variances.
  • Notify the Store Manager of any sales, cash, or inventory discrepancies.
  • Follow company guidelines for product breakage or spoilage.
  • Report all incidents, including injuries, theft, property damage, or sanitation issues, to the Store Manager.
  • Report any unsafe, unlawful, or unethical conduct.
  • Keep an accurate record of all shift and timekeeping paperwork.
  • May take inventory of supplies and equipment.
  • Attend job-related meetings.
  • Provide regular and predictable onsite attendance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Store Manager.
