About The Position

The Arlington County Department of Parks and Recreation is seeking multiple Customer Service Representatives (CSR) to provide customer and facility support at Arlington Mill Community Center, Thomas Jefferson Community Center, and Walter Reed Community Center. The CSRs will be expected to assess customers’ needs and refer to the appropriate program resource and recognize and respond to emergency situations. The community centers offer a variety of amenities including gymnasiums, multi-purpose rooms, fitness rooms, game rooms, and outdoor recreational spaces.

Requirements

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
• Some experience providing administrative support

Nice To Haves

• Front desk customer service
• Working in recreation and community center settings
• Strong knowledge of RecTrac or similar web-based scheduling, registration, and payment system
• Facility reservation and registration experience
• Competent skills in using Microsoft Office Suite

Responsibilities

• Providing reception desk assistance to internal and external customers
• Answering questions regarding facility usage, programs, fees, rules, etc. via phone, in-person, and email
• Conducting payment transactions via cash, check and credit cards while adhering to the County’s cash handling procedures
• Using RecTrac system for payments, program registrations, facility reservations, and to run facility reservation reports
• Setting up/breaking down rooms
• Assisting staff to ensure the center is open and closed properly
• Cleaning of workplace and facility
