About The Position

PPG's Aerospace Business is looking for a Customer Service Representative to join our team! As the Customer Service Representative you will be responsible for building strong working relationships with external and internal customers through effective communication and an understanding of customer needs. This is an onsite position that can be based in any of the following locations: Seattle, WA; Atlanta, GA; Grand Prairie, TX; or Los Angeles, CA. In this role you will report to the Customer Service Manager.

Requirements

  • Minimum High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 2+ years customer service experience required
  • Basic administrative experience required
  • Must be able to perform basic mathematical calculations including decimals, fractions, and percent.
  • Must be able to operate a computer and perform accurate data entry operations.
  • Familiarity with office software and phone systems
  • Only U.S. Citizens, Green Card holders, and political asylees or refugees are eligible to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Serves customers by providing product and service information and resolving product and service problems.
  • Attracts potential customers by answering product and service questions, suggesting information about other products and services, recognizing customer gaps and identifying opportunities for potential upsell.
  • Partners with Sales & Marketing Representatives to develop plans to increase customer satisfaction and to reach out to customers that have not purchased PPG products in over one year to regain business.
  • Accurately quotes prices using standard pricing information and customer specific pricing agreements.
  • Ensures accuracy of all sales orders entry from customer and accurately identifies the type, amount and required date of product ordered and coordinates with shipping to meet customer specific requirements.
  • Adheres to all export compliance activities and requirements for product export.
  • Prepares product or service reports by collecting and analyzing customer information.
  • Reviews open order status and provides updates via phone, email, spreadsheets, and/or regular conference calls.
  • Coordinates resolution of non-conforming products and issues.
  • Maintains financial accounts by processing customer adjustments and assisting corporate office in regards to credit memos, deductions and later payments.
  • Works with other departments, including, but not limited to manufacturing and planning, to expedite orders to meet customer demand.
  • Participates in all audits (Weekly Price Audits in QAD, AS9100, Nadcap FAA, EH&S, export compliance).
