About The Position

U-Haul is hiring a friendly, motivated Customer Service Representative to provide customer service at a U-Haul center. The representative works as part of a supportive team, assists customers with products and services, and helps ensure equipment is ready for customers’ journeys. The position includes using technology to dispatch and return equipment, inspecting and maintaining equipment, and receiving on-the-job education through U-Haul University. U-Haul offers paid hands-on working interviews, a $100 hiring bonus, and a $300 cash bonus upon completion of the Equipment Inspection and Verification certification program at retail stores. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must not require employer sponsorship. U-Haul states that it will not hire or re-hire nicotine users in certain listed states, including Illinois.

Requirements

Valid driver’s license and ability to maintain a good driving record.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring employer sponsorship.

Responsibilities

Assist customers inside and outside a U-Haul center with U-Haul products and services.
Use smartphone-based U-Scan technology to manage rentals and inventory.
Move and hook up U-Haul trucks and trailers.
Clean and inspect equipment on the lot, including checking fluid levels.
Answer customer questions and educate customers about products and services.
Prepare rental invoices and accept returned rental equipment.
Install hitches and trailer wiring.
Fill propane; certification is offered by U-Haul upon employment.
Drive a forklift; certification is offered by U-Haul upon employment.
Participate in ongoing U-Haul education through U-Haul University.
Perform other duties as assigned.
