As the Customer Service Representative - Temporary/Seasonal, you will be the first impression to the citizens of Maricopa County. It will be your knowledge that guides our voters to the answers they need. This is a fantastic entry-level opportunity to learn more about local government operations while making a meaningful impact on your community! Please note that this is a temporary position that will be contracted from June 22nd to November 13th. The mission of the STAR Contact Center is to provide knowledgeable, courteous, and efficient information to all incoming telephone questions to the Recorder, Elections, Assessor, and Treasurer offices and to assist callers who call the County Switchboard. With access to these multiple offices and their data, the Contact Center Representatives can answer nearly every question in a single call. Bilingual agents are also available. The Elections Office is committed to providing voters with accurate information about elections administration in the country’s second-largest voting jurisdiction. Elections are complex and are governed by many state and federal laws and procedures. Requirements

  • Customer service experience, clerical experience, or a combination thereof
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Post-secondary education may substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.

Responsibilities

  • Receive calls that require skilled communication and accurate information based on policies, guidelines, and directives of each agency represented
  • Act as a communication facilitator between the public and the contact center management
  • Communicate and process information to the Lead or Supervisor when necessary
  • Answer incoming phone calls; may have to take and relay messages
  • Provide factual information to the public and /or other County employees
  • Maintain logs and other forms of information data entry
  • Complete and review routine forms and memos, ensuring accuracy and completeness
