Requirements

  • Are a confident, compassionate communicator who can support clients through high-stress moments with empathy and clarity.
  • Are flexible for evening, weekend, and holiday shifts, and committed to being part of a life-saving emergency care team.
  • comfortable managing a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Are tech-savvy, organized, detail-oriented, and able to keep records accurate, appointments on track, and the front desk running smoothly.
  • Stay calm and kind under pressure, and can multitask seamlessly.
  • Thrive in a collaborative environment and are eager to grow your skills while contributing to a mission-driven practice that values empathy, service, and professionalism.

Nice To Haves

  • Bring foundational knowledge of veterinary emergencies and understand the urgency, sensitivity, and precision these situations require.
  • Have prior experience in veterinary or medical reception (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Be the first point of contact for emergency clients, both on the phone and in person
  • Triage incoming calls quickly and calmly while gathering key information
  • Communicate clearly and compassionately with pet parents during high-stress moments
  • Keep client records accurate and up to date to support smooth and effective care
  • Manage appointment scheduling, billing, and a high caseload with organization and professionalism
  • Maintain a polished and welcoming front desk, even during the busiest shifts
