About The Position

This role is not a typical, face-to-face, retail customer service job. In this role, you are a customer-focused representative, working with the importation of ocean cargo. Maritime transport is essential to the world’s economy, as over 90% of the world’s trade is carried by sea. The clothing and shoes people wear, cell phones, and nearly all consumer goods purchased in stores are first moved across the oceans by vessels in shipping containers. This is a perfect opportunity to learn about international business and the transportation and logistics arm of world trade. Requirements

Customer-focused representative
Working with the importation of ocean cargo
Strong reading and comprehension skills
Working knowledge and level of comfort using MS Office products - especially Outlook, Excel, and SharePoint

US and Canada Regulatory Transportation Requirement
Knowledge of International Cargo Container Movement
Experience with Terminal and Rail Operations

Responsibilities

Assist with customer inquiries for import cargo through email and phone
Monitor all assigned cargo that is in transit or at the terminal
Cross-functionally communicates to manage the timely delivery of cargo and escalates where needed
Use your strong reading and comprehension skills to reference documents, procedures, and guidelines effectively.
Have a working knowledge and level of comfort using MS Office products - especially Outlook, Excel, and SharePoint
