Requirements

  • Graduation from high school (GED considered)
  • 3 or more years of job-related experience
  • Considerable experience in MS Office Programs
  • Experience in an office setting with extensive public contact and general knowledge of standard office methods and procedures
  • The ability to work as a team in meeting daily deadlines

Responsibilities

  • Assisting customers in person, by phone, and via email with billing inquiries, service requests, account changes, payment options, rates, and water consumption concerns
  • Processing customer payments, new service applications, service cancellations, deposits, and refunds
  • Generating bills, notices, reports, adjustments, and work orders
  • Reviewing meter reading data and assisting with high-consumption and leak-related inquiries
  • Supporting collection activities and payment arrangements
  • Dispatching personnel for service calls and emergencies via radio communication
  • Maintaining accurate customer records, files, and departmental inventories
