About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated and customer-focused Customer Service Representative I – Hazard Claims to join our Loan Servicing Department. In this role, you will assist borrowers through the hazard claims process by answering questions, processing claims, and ensuring timely follow-up in accordance with Agency guidelines. Requirements

  • Ability to work independently, organize, prioritize, and manage multiple responsibilities
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to maintain excellent customer and team relations at all times

Nice To Haves

  • 6 months to 1 year of experience in residential real estate lending, residential loan processing, loan closing, and/or loan servicing preferred
  • Previous customer service or call center experience preferred
  • Strong communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office programs preferred
  • Bilingual in Spanish/English preferred

Responsibilities

  • Handle incoming phone calls and customer inquiries related to hazard claims processing
  • Guide borrowers through the hazard claims process, including obtaining required documentation and ordering inspections
  • Track, document, and follow up on claims to ensure timely completion according to Agency guidelines
  • Work within required timeframes to process incoming claims requests and inspections
  • Maintain professional, friendly, and helpful interactions with IHFA borrowers and team members
  • Provide additional support and complete other duties as assigned by leadership
