About The Position

This role involves a combination of customer service, clerical duties, and some physical tasks within a distribution center environment. The representative will handle customer inquiries, process orders, liaise between departments, and assist with inventory and operational tasks. The position requires strong communication skills, PC proficiency, and the ability to work in a non-climate controlled setting with physical demands.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of Customer Service experience.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent telephone, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to interface with all levels of staff and customers.
  • Working knowledge of PCs and related software including MS Word, Excel, Access, Lotus Notes, etc.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Willingness to learn product and processes.

Nice To Haves

  • Door industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Handle light clerical work including answering and screening telephone calls, and resolving customer inquiries regarding orders and quotes.
  • Operate hand tools and assist with product modifications such as glazing, section width changes, and insulating.
  • Operate a fork truck.
  • Respond to customer requests for information on order tracking, expediting, and product availability.
  • Enter orders for sales invoicing and request products from supply plants.
  • Notify customers about potential backorders, credit issues, order availability, and other order-related information.
  • Act as a liaison between the sales center and plant departments, gathering and relaying information.
  • Process necessary paperwork for the daily operation of the sales center.
  • Perform delivery responsibilities as required, including being driver qualified with a valid license.
  • Assist in loading and unloading vendor and customer vehicles.
  • Monitor the completion of daily customer LTL shipments, including UPS.
  • Assist the GM and AGM with inventory controls, including cycle counts, daily review of inventory levels, scrap processing, and loss prevention.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
