About The Position

This role involves light clerical work, including answering and screening telephone calls, and resolving customer inquiries related to orders and quotes. The position also requires the ability to use hand tools for product modifications such as glazing, section width changes, and insulating, as well as fork truck operation. Responsibilities include responding to customer requests for order tracking, expediting, and product availability information. The role also entails performing order entry for sales invoicing and product requests from supply plants, notifying customers of potential backorders, credit issues, and order availability. Additionally, the Customer Service Representative will act as a liaison between the sales center and plant departments, process necessary paperwork for daily sales center operations, and handle delivery responsibilities as required, including being driver qualified with a valid license. Assisting in unloading and loading vendor and customer vehicles, monitoring daily LTL shipments (including UPS), and assisting the GM and AGM with inventory controls (cycle counts, daily inventory level reviews, scrap processing, loss prevention) are also key duties. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years Customer Service experience, door industry preferred.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent telephone, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to interface with all levels of staff and customers.
  • Working knowledge of PCs and related software including MS Word, Excel, Access, Lotus Notes, etc.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Willingness to learn product and processes.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time in a non-climate controlled environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

  • Performing order entry at both sales invoicing level and for requests for products from supply plants.
  • Notifying customers of potential backorders, credit issues, order availability, and any other information regarding orders.
  • Acting as a liaison between sales center and plant departments, gathering necessary information and responding appropriately.
  • Processing all necessary paperwork for the daily operation of the sales center.
  • Handling delivery responsibilities as required, including being driver qualified (valid license).
  • Assisting in unloading and loading vendor and customer vehicles.
  • Monitoring completion of daily customer LTL shipment including UPS.
  • Assisting the GM and AGM with inventory controls, including cycle counts, daily review of inventory levels, scrap processing, and loss prevention.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
