About The Position

Greets and assists Emergency Department patients and significant others in a friendly, professional and efficient manner. Superior customer service skills are demonstrated by exhibiting high sensitivity to physical and emotional needs of patients and their significant others. Acts as a department resource and a link of communication between the patients, significant others and members of the healthcare team. Continuously updates patients and their significant others regarding progress in the treatment area and any delays, anticipated or real. Responsible for transporting patients and miscellaneous supplies throughout the hospital. Responsible for cleaning and maintaining equipment. Provides clerical support as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Six months experience in a customer service role that includes clerical support and data entry.
  • Comprehensive Crisis Management per policy.
  • Responsible to safely access, transport, and handle single dose medications to include prescription and non-prescription medications.
  • Responsible to safely access, transport, and handle sharps, such as needles, suture kits, lancets, syringes, etc.
