About The Position

We are looking for an energetic, self-driven, mechanically inclined individual to join our team. This role is responsible for providing outstanding service to our customers and support to our outside sales managers. Key duties include answering phone calls and responding to customer correspondence regarding technical questions on products or systems, responding promptly to customer inquiries through various channels, and assisting customers in finding components using product catalogs and internal resources. The role also involves supplying detailed product quotations, entering customer orders with 100% accuracy, and expediting customer orders as needed. Collaboration with Service Technicians, Outside Sales Managers, and manufacturers' representatives to resolve technical problems is essential. Additionally, the position will assist Outside Sales when necessary, follow up on quotes and outbound calls, and continuously develop sales and technical skills to up-sell or cross-sell to customers.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree or equivalent from a two-year College or technical school; or two to four years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 2+ years of customer service or inside sales experience, industrial distribution or adjacent industry preferred
  • Proficient with software programs relating to the customer service position - Microsoft Excel, Word, e-mail, etc.
  • Strong analytical, mathematical and mechanical aptitude required to be successful in this role
  • Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in both a team environment and individually
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize work on a regular basis
  • Ability to maintain composure under stressful situations
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Sound judgment and decision-making ability

Responsibilities

  • Providing outstanding service to our customers and support to our outside sales managers
  • Answering phone calls and responding to customer correspondence regarding technical questions on products or systems
  • Responding promptly to customer inquiries through phone calls, e-mails and customer portals, as necessary
  • Assisting customers in finding components by using product catalogs, web-based catalogs and internal resources
  • Supplying detailed product quotations by computing price, discount and shipping charges as required and within company guidelines
  • Entering customer orders in the ERP system with the goal of 100% accuracy
  • Expediting customer orders as needed to meet required and promised delivery dates
  • Conferring and corresponding with Service Technicians, Outside Sales Managers and manufacturers reps to resolve technical problems
  • Assisting Outside Sales when necessary (quoting, expediting, customer visits)
  • Following up on quotes and outbound calls to assist sales team
  • Continuous development of sales and technical skills to up-sell or additional-sell to customers
