This role involves processing requests for disposition review through the Disposition Authorization (DA) Program, performing customer service duties for funeral directors and grieving families, and answering multiple phone lines. The assistant will monitor a shared email account, screen incoming requests, and provide updates for various MEO services. Key responsibilities include reviewing information, performing data entry, coordinating the disposition review approval process with forensic pathologists and Death Investigators, and providing official disposition approval to funeral homes. The role also involves managing billing, scanning daily requests, maintaining retention schedules, and ensuring records are disposed of according to policy. Additionally, the assistant will provide in-person assistance, interpret statutes regarding medical examiner records, perform administrative duties like copying and scanning, manage case files using specific software, assist in preparing death certificates, and support the release of personal effects. Other duties as assigned.
