About The Position

Stella-Jones is a leading manufacturer of essential infrastructure products, serving utilities, railroads, and big box home improvement stores across North America. Headquartered in Montreal, Canada, and publicly traded on the Toronto Stock Exchange, Stella-Jones operates a vast network of facilities, employing more than 3,000 individuals across the United States and Canada. The company is seeking a qualified Customer Service Clerk to join its team in either Warsaw, Virginia, or Brierfield, Alabama. This position is a clerical support role focused on delivering the highest level of service by providing order processing support to the Customer Service team.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Three to six months related experience and/or training
  • Previous clerical support experience
  • Advance proficiency in Microsoft Suite
  • Strong organizational skills, proactive attitude with exceptional attention to detail
  • Capability to multi-task and work under pressure of deadlines
  • Ability to work in a team environment and interface interdepartmentally

Responsibilities

  • Accurately enters and reviews sales orders within 24 hours
  • Inputs customer and sales data into processing system according to company procedures
  • Ensures all proper paperwork is filed in customer folders to meet department policy
  • Provides backup coverage for Account Representative/Specialists
  • Assists with special projects/reporting as assigned
  • Supports invoicing customers, invoicing freight, and matching records for payment
  • Develops and maintains detailed written desk instructions covering all major responsibilities
  • May perform additional clerical responsibilities including mail distribution, filing, and general administrative tasks
  • Participates and contributes to company safety program
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
