About The Position

This position is for a Customer Service Associate Trainee at the Maple Shade Store. The role involves processing register transactions, engaging with customers, maintaining the store's appearance, and stocking merchandise. Trainees will also receive cross-training as a Donation-Utility Associate and Barcoder to support individual growth and company productivity. The job requires adherence to all Goodwill policies and safety procedures, professional etiquette, and the ability to work a flexible schedule.

Requirements

  • Must possess professional etiquette.
  • Must achieve 40% Round-Up transaction average every month.
  • Ability to communicate and understand instructions, both verbal and written, in English.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule on short notice, including night, weekends and occasionally long hours.
  • Ability to meet physical demands of position.
  • Vision corrected to within normal limits.
  • Ability to function in a hectic work environment with occasional periods of high stress.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all Goodwill policies and safety procedures.
  • Process register transactions, handle money, and count down a drawer.
  • Engage customers successfully using specific steps including greeting, focusing on the customer, maintaining a clean store, walking, talking, showing, thanking the customer, listening and responding to concerns, managing the register line, and using good phone etiquette.
  • Provide short, clear, timely announcements.
  • Receive cross-training as Donation-Utility Associate and Barcoder.
  • Train to complete opening and closing procedures.
  • Stock and maintain the sales floor with newly processed merchandise.
  • Maintain a clean and organized sales floor by recovering standards through sizing of merchandise and organization of wares and furniture.
  • Maintain sales floor by recovering sales floor and dressing rooms.
  • Establish or identify prices of goods via the type of merchandise, identifying markings, or asking for help from an on-site manager or supervisor.
  • Utilize systems, including phones and paging systems, and make regularly scheduled announcements.
  • Maintain the interior and exterior of the store in a neat, clean, and orderly manner (includes vacuuming, dusting, cleaning bathrooms, mopping floors, washing windows, etc.).
  • Maintain a clean and neat personal appearance at all times.
  • Wear company-issued uniform.
  • Attend work regularly.
  • Perform other essential duties as assigned.
