About The Position

Family Dollar is seeking a Customer Service Associate to deliver a positive shopping experience for customers. The role includes assisting customers, processing sales, maintaining cash security and company assets, stocking and recovering merchandise, receiving deliveries, and helping unload trucks. The associate also helps maintain a safe, respectful, clean, and presentable store environment, including cleaning and restocking bathrooms, sweeping and mopping floors, and removing trash. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
Previous customer service experience in a retail, hotel, restaurant, grocery, or drug store environment is highly preferred.
Ability to follow instructions and interpret operational documents is required.
Ability to lift 30 to 50 pounds from floor to above shoulder height and meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
Excellent customer service and relationship management skills are required.
Strong organizational and communication skills are required.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills are required.

Nice To Haves

Previous customer service experience in a retail, hotel, restaurant, grocery, or drug store environment is highly preferred.
High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist customers with questions and recommendations.
Manage sales transactions at an assigned cash register.
Maintain cash security and protect company assets.
Keep the store well-stocked and recover merchandise.
Receive merchandise and help unload trucks; replenish stock in accordance with productivity standards.
Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment through professional and friendly interactions with customers, associates, and leaders.
Maintain store cleanliness, including cleaning and restocking bathrooms, sweeping and mopping floors, taking out trash, and keeping areas neat and presentable.
Perform other duties as assigned.
