Customer Service Associate I
About The Position
The Customer Service Associate assists customers and supports store operations to provide a positive shopping experience. Duties include answering customer questions and making recommendations; processing sales at an assigned cash register; protecting cash and company assets; stocking and recovering merchandise; receiving deliveries, helping unload trucks, and replenishing stock in accordance with productivity standards; and maintaining a safe, respectful, professional, and friendly environment. The role also includes cleaning and maintaining the store, including bathrooms and floors, removing trash, and keeping all areas neat and presentable. Other duties may be assigned.
Requirements
- Ability to follow instructions and interpret operational documents.
- Ability to lift 30 to 50 pounds from floor level to above shoulder height and meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
- Excellent customer service and relationship management skills.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous customer service experience in a retail, hotel, restaurant, grocery, or drug store environment highly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assist customers with questions and recommendations.
- Manage sales transactions at an assigned cash register.
- Maintain cash security and protect company assets.
- Keep the store stocked and recover merchandise.
- Receive merchandise, help unload trucks, and replenish stock according to productivity standards.
- Help maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment through professional, friendly interactions with customers, associates, and leaders.
- Maintain store cleanliness, including cleaning and restocking bathrooms, sweeping and mopping floors, taking out trash, and keeping areas neat and presentable.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
