About the position
This is a Fixed Term Contract opportunity to support a new pilot program for North Somerset Council's customer service. The role involves providing face-to-face support to vulnerable customers in various locations throughout North Somerset. The successful candidate will be responsible for signposting customers to the appropriate partner agencies and will receive full training. Basic computer skills and a clean driver's license are required, and the role is Monday-Friday for 22.5 hours per week.
Responsibilities
- Deliver face to face support to vulnerable customers in set locations throughout North Somerset
- Learn and understand a variety of council services such as waste and recycling, highways, planning and BC, housing, and council tax
- Appropriately signpost and make arrangements on behalf of the customer to access the support required from the appropriate partner agencies
- Work from own initiative and have basic computer skills to navigate around various council systems
- Have excellent listening and communication skills
- Commute to various locations within North Somerset using a clean driver's license and a car
- Work Monday to Friday for 22.5 hours per week (hours to be agreed)
Requirements
- Must be willing to learn a variety of council services such as Waste & Recycling, Highways, Planning & BC, Housing, Council Tax
- Must have excellent listening & communication skills
- Must be able to work from their own initiative
- Must have basic computer skills to navigate around the various council systems
- Must have a clean driver's license and a car
- Must be able to commute to various locations within North Somerset
