About the position
This Fixed Term Contract opportunity involves providing face-to-face support to North Somerset Council's customer base at various locations throughout North Somerset. The successful candidate will need to have excellent listening and communication skills, be able to work from their own initiative, and have basic computer skills. They will be responsible for signposting and making arrangements on behalf of the customer to access the support required from the appropriate partner agencies. A clean driver's license and a car are essential for commuting to the various locations within North Somerset.
Responsibilities
- Deliver face to face support to vulnerable customers in set locations throughout North Somerset
- Learn and understand a variety of council services such as Waste & Recycling, Highways, Planning & BC, Housing, and Council Tax
- Appropriately signpost and make arrangements on behalf of the customer to access the support required from the appropriate partner agencies
- Work from own initiative and have basic computer skills to navigate around the various council systems
- Have excellent listening and communication skills
- Commute to various locations within North Somerset using own car and clean driver's license
- Work 22.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with hours to be agreed
- Provide face-to-face regional support at various libraries and mobile libraries in North Somerset, subject to change.
