Customer Route Driver
About The Position
The Route Service Representative is responsible for daily deliveries and pickups along an assigned customer route, ensuring dependable service and strong customer support. At Dempsey Uniform & Linen Supply, routes are serviced during daytime hours, Monday through Friday, because we believe evenings and weekends should be dedicated to personal time, family, and work-life balance. This full-time opportunity features a 4-day workweek from 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with weekends and holidays off. The position is based in Poughkeepsie. Starting pay begins at $25.00 per hour. At Dempsey Uniform & Linen Supply, we provide businesses with high-quality uniforms, restaurant linens, and floor mats through affordable weekly rental programs that include scheduled pickup, professional cleaning, and reliable delivery service.
Requirements
- You must be at least 22 years of ag or older for vehicle insurance purposes
- A valid driver’s license that is in good standing with a clean record.
- Must meet pre-employment DOT physical requirements
- Physically capable of lifting up to 75 pounds and carrying products into and out of customers' location
- Customer service experience, problem solving abilities, and the ability to build rapport and trust with our clients
- A high standard of integrity and work ethic - you always do the right thing
- A friendly and professional can-do attitude
- Ability to meet our appearance and dress code policy

Responsibilities
- Serve as the face of Dempsey Uniform & Linen Supply by building strong relationships with key customer decision-makers, maintaining high service standards, and proactively resolving customer concerns with professionalism and care.
- Operate a company vehicle along an established route to deliver and pick up rented products while supporting customers with additional product solutions that help improve their business operations.
- Combine exceptional customer service with consultative sales skills to grow your route organically and maximize your earning potential through upselling and cross-selling opportunities.
- Maintain accurate invoices and inventory records, conduct regular inventory audits, identify additional service opportunities, and assist with renewing customer service agreements to support long-term account growth.
- Perform all responsibilities safely, professionally, and in full compliance with company policies, driving laws, and vehicle safety regulations.
