About The Position

Gordon Food Service is seeking a Customer Rebate Manager to lead our Shared Services department. In this role, you will oversee departmental personnel and daily operations, ensuring the integrity of transactional processing and the monthly financial close. The ideal candidate will develop and recommend policies to govern departmental sub-systems, manage the annual budget, and champion ongoing initiatives such as system integrations, upgrades, and tool enhancements.

Requirements

  • At least five years of progressively responsible general accounting experience, including at least one year of supervisory or leadership experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in benchmarking, statistics, and financial analysis.
  • Ability to innovate and coordinate complex data sets.
  • Strong ability to relay technical information clearly through business writing and public speaking.
  • Proven track record in coaching, motivating teams, and building professional relationships.
  • Highly organized with the ability to prioritize tasks, navigate ambiguity, and manage fluctuating workloads independently.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced knowledge of SAP Financial Software or similar ERP systems is preferred, including experience leveraging AI-driven automation tools.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor departmental staff, overseeing daily operations and professional development.
  • Develop and maintain internal financial policies and procedures to ensure a robust internal control environment.
  • Maintain the subledger and related General Ledger (GL) accounts through accurate reconciliations and effective controls.
  • Oversee team time and attendance records and manage employee incentive programs.
  • Execute weekly, monthly, and year-end close procedures, including providing support for annual audits.
  • Partner with related departments to ensure seamless integration and effective communication across the organization.
  • Stay current on industry trends and best practices to optimize departmental processes and systems.
