About The Position

KLA’s Semiconductor Products and Customers business unit designs, builds, and sells products that help chip manufacturers meet quality standards. The Customer Engagement division is a field-based group of technical experts that works closely with customers to support yield improvement from research and development through high-volume production. The Customer Engagement Applications Engineer will support KLA products and customer applications, partnering with internal teams and customer engineers. The position is based in Austin, Texas, and requires travel to customer sites, including more than 30% travel within the United States. The role has two main areas of focus: customer support and product development. Customer support includes product penetration and adoption, customer demonstrations, head-to-head activities, investigating semiconductor manufacturing yield issues, identifying inspection solutions, creating product value statements and use cases, and training customers and applications engineers. Work may also involve new product introductions, characterization, beta testing, and early evaluation tools. Product development includes characterizing next-generation semiconductor wafer inspection products; crafting test plans; collecting and analyzing data; and publishing results and recommendations in applications notes and best-known-method documents. The engineer will also create training materials, transfer knowledge to KLA’s worldwide Applications team and customers, help customers develop solutions, and publish papers at industry symposiums or in technical journals. The position calls for a motivated engineer who can work autonomously in a fast-paced, high-stress environment, while collaborating effectively with customers and internal teams.
