About The Position

Texas Instruments (TI) is seeking a passionate and excited Applications Engineer to join their high-growth business segment. This role involves taking an active part in product definition, executing characterization until ramp, and providing post-ramp application support to customers. The position is responsible for application support for multiphase processor power solutions for data centers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, ECE, or related field with 3yrs of relevant experience
  • Experience in applications support of analog power products
  • Solid hardware and software debugging skills
  • Strong technical background, with the ability to produce high quality technical documentation

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on experience with analog power products including DC/DC converters
  • Proficiency with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, power supplies, signal analyzers) and board-level debugging
  • Experience with PCB design and board bring-up
  • Knowledge of key end-equipment markets including data center power
  • Data Center Power distribution design experiences
  • Strong background in power electronics simulations and control loop compensation techniques
  • Strong technical writing skills including the ability to create application notes or design guides
  • Ability to establish strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with design, test, and marketing teams
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and drive results with minimal day-to-day direction

Responsibilities

  • Answer customer questions and supporting design-in activities for released products
  • Schematic and Layout Review of customer application
  • Debug of customer problems by re-creating issues in our evaluation boards and/or customer boards
  • On-site support for customer board as required
  • Design EVM and internal evaluation boards to support correlation and evaluation activities of new products
  • Create user guides, test procedures and proper release of EVM boards for customer consumption
  • Participate in datasheet review to ensure completeness of datasheet being developed by the Systems Engineer
  • Participate in new silicon testing from an application perspective to ensure robustness of the product (i.e. destructive testing)
  • Work with systems engineer to provide support to early design in activities for new products
  • Create custom reference designs targeting relevant applications to be used as customer implementation ideas
  • Write application notes that explain different use cases, implementation and/or flexibility of our products
