Customer Education Program Manager

Ashby,
$135,000 - $176,813Remote

About The Position

Ashby is seeking a Customer Education Program Manager to own customer-facing education work end-to-end. This role involves learning a complex product, coaching users, and translating that coaching into scalable content. The Program Manager will create clear, practical learning experiences and collaborate with Customer Success, Product, PMM, and Recruiting Operations Consulting to ensure content is grounded in customer workflows. This is a hands-on role focused on learning the product, identifying key areas, scoping, writing, building, reviewing, refining, and shipping educational content.

Requirements

  • Ability to quickly master a complex product, understand how customers use it in practice, and turn that understanding into clear, useful education.
  • Strong product learning instincts, customer empathy, and the ability to translate complexity into practical coaching and content.
  • Experience teaching something complex before, whether live, through writing, or both.
  • Ability to learn complex products quickly by exploring firsthand, digging into documentation, learning from internal experts, and understanding customer usage.
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects and manage several at once without losing momentum when priorities shift.
  • Strong writing skills to make complicated things feel clear and useful on the page.
  • Comfortable recording voiceovers for customer-facing content.
  • Ability to own work end-to-end, from problem framing through build and launch without a fully mapped plan.
  • Ability to work well with subject matter experts, pulling what is needed without losing momentum or clarity.
  • Good judgment about scope, knowing when something should be deep, lightweight, or optimized for speed.
  • Experience owning meaningful work with real autonomy.
  • Experience improving how something is taught or documented.
  • Cared more about the outcome than the optics.

Nice To Haves

  • Traditional customer education experience is not required.
  • Experience may come from customer education, enablement, implementation, solutions consulting, customer success, recruiting operations, product training, or another role where you've had to learn a complex system and teach it clearly.

Responsibilities

  • Own net-new customer education work from concept through publication, including courses, playbooks, recordings, and other learning assets.
  • Define the goal and shape of each learning asset — what it should help customers do, for whom, and in what format — then gather the right input, design the approach, and build it.
  • Refresh and improve existing Academy content so it stays aligned with how Ashby actually works today.
  • Translate complex Ashby workflows into clear, practical, outcome-oriented education — the kind that helps customers understand not just what to do, but why it matters.
  • Partner cross-functionally with CS, Product, PMM, and RecOps Consultants to identify high-value education opportunities and get the right assets out at the right time.
  • Contribute to the systems, standards, and workflows that help Customer Education scale while maintaining high-quality learning experiences.
  • Help explore adjacent formats when useful — lighter-weight tutorials, in-app guidance, and other just-in-time learning moments.

Benefits

  • Emphasis on high-quality work and avoiding quick hacks.
  • Opportunity to work with a product that customers are genuinely excited about.
  • 10-year exercise window for stock options.
  • Unlimited PTO with four weeks recommended per year.
  • Twelve weeks of fully paid family leave in the US.
  • $100/month education budget with larger development opportunities supported through manager approval.
  • Top-tier health insurance for you and your dependents in the US, with 100% of premiums covered by Ashby.
  • High-quality supplemental health insurance for you and your dependents in other countries, fully covered by Ashby.
  • Generous equipment, software, and office furniture budget.
