About The Position

Manage technical activities related to distribution design, including analyzing service requests, designing and drafting work orders, estimating and requesting construction materials and equipment, maintaining mapping systems, and performing other technical activities. The role provides leadership and technical direction to a high-performing engineering design team, supports customer-focused service, and monitors project progress, costs, compliance, and schedules.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related discipline and at least 5 years of experience designing power system electrical distribution facilities or other related experience; or an associate's degree in electrical/electronic technology or a related discipline and at least 7 years of experience designing distribution facilities; or a high school diploma or GED and 9 years of experience designing distribution facilities.

Responsibilities

Provide leadership and technical services direction to establish a high-performing engineering design team.
Involve employees in developing methods and approaches by maintaining close engagement and listening to their ideas, needs, and recommendations.
Ensure employees maintain a customer-focused attitude and understand customer expectations and the importance of superior customer satisfaction.
Monitor design, materials, and work progress on department projects to control costs within estimated budgets and ensure codes, standards, and schedules are met.
Coordinate with other departments to maintain accurate distribution system maps.
Develop employee skills and knowledge.
Promote and assure compliance with standards.
