About The Position

The Customer Coordinator helps plan and support vegetation maintenance work by communicating with customers, scheduling crews, obtaining needed permissions, and keeping accurate records to ensure the job is done safely and on time.

Requirements

  • Demonstrates strong leadership skills and the ability to remain effective in high-pressure situations while managing multiple tasks
  • Possesses basic knowledge of tree species, growth habits, and proper arboricultural techniques for trimming, pruning, maintaining, and removing trees near energized conductors
  • Understands and applies the American National Standards for Tree Care Operations (ANSI Z133.1-2000)
  • Has a basic understanding of electrical circuits and the ability to read and interpret circuit maps
  • Ability to communicate professionally, both verbally and in writing, with the general public, customers, and coworkers
  • Successfully completes an approved customer relations course and understands all applicable work methods for the position
  • Must be able to wear necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
  • Available to work long hours and overtime during emergencies (including holidays, weekends, and storm response), and subject to call-out work
  • Able to write, read, and comprehend written and verbal job instructions/information
  • Ability to communicate with others and represent Wright Tree Service in a professional manner
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience working on tree trimming or clearing crews and/or has successfully completed applicable performance reviews
  • Must be able to achieve ISA certification within 90 days of employment
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a pre-employment drug test
  • Has a valid medical card to drive company vehicles 10,001 lbs GVWR or GVW and greater
  • Possess valid First-Aid and CPR cards
  • Ability to enter and exit vehicles and equipment numerous times per day
  • Effective bending, reaching, standing, walking, climbing, lifting, carrying, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
  • Occasionally reach upward and downward
  • Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 50 pounds of force constantly to move objects
  • Possesses the ability to lift, move, and maneuver up to 50 pounds on an infrequent basis and up to 30 pounds on a frequent basis
  • Must be able to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of work assigned or make general observations of the community; close visual acuity, such as reading a computer screen, reading printed material, inspection of small defects, and using measurement devices
  • Must be able to withstand exposure to all kinds of weather while completing work tasks such as rain, heat, sun, cold, snow
  • Routine exposure to indoor and outdoor working conditions

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid driver’s or commercial driver’s license (dependent upon Division and utility/contract requirements) and DOT medical card in accordance with FMCSA regulations
  • Drive a vehicle with an attached chipper or other trailing unit to, from or within the work area
  • Maintain herbicide application certification or equivalent as required by Wright Tree Service and local, state, and federal law

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates and assigns appropriate work locations for crew personnel
  • Schedules appointments and obtains verbal or written permission/notification from customers regarding vegetation maintenance; secures permits when necessary
  • Arranges access with customers or property owners and advises of any service interruptions; explains work to be done and sets timelines
  • Maintains accurate records and reports related to permission/notification from customer/homeowner to supervisor and crew personnel in appropriate tracking systems
  • Plans and lays out work for crew members, considering factors such as equipment access, estimated completion time, clean-up, available tools, weather conditions and special instructions by customers/homeowners
  • Understands and follows all applicable work methods pertaining to line clearance work
  • Inspects rights-of-way to assess vegetation conditions and determine required maintenance
  • Responds to questions and concerns regarding work specifications and requirements
  • Inspects work completed by crew/contractors for compliance and utility specifications
  • Assists in the coordination of crew/contractors during storm restoration operations
  • Provides support on special projects as assigned by the utility
  • May work on rough terrain as required by job responsibilities
  • Enforces on-the-job safety practices
  • Drives and operates vehicles and equipment as assigned
  • Performs other related duties as required or assigned
