About The Position

This role involves clerical work focused on customer service, including managing telephone calls, resolving customer inquiries related to orders, quotes, and product availability, and performing order entry. The position also requires notifying customers of order status, acting as a liaison between departments, and processing necessary paperwork for daily sales center operations.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years Customer Service experience
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent telephone, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to interface with all levels of staff and customers
  • Working knowledge of PCs and related software including MS Word, Excel, Access, Lotus Notes, etc.
  • Basic math skills
  • Willingness to learn product and processes

Responsibilities

  • Answering, screening, and directing telephone calls to the appropriate person.
  • Resolving customer calls regarding orders, quotes, and product availability.
  • Responding to customer requests for information concerning order tracking, order expediting, and product availability.
  • Performing order entry for sales invoicing and product requests from supply plants.
  • Notifying customers of potential backorders, credit issues, order availability, and other order-related information.
  • Acting as a liaison between the sales center and plant departments, gathering information, and responding appropriately.
  • Processing all necessary paperwork for the daily operation of the sales center.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
