About The Position

The Customer Business Planning Manager (CBPM) is responsible for delivering the financial results for their area of responsibility (AOR). The CBPM will lead the implementation of planning at the account level in conjunction with the RSM focusing on volume, net sales, profit and share growth for all Tillamook categories. The CBPM will possess intermediate financial acumen with solid knowledge and understanding of how their team’s work impacts key areas of the total category and organization’s P&L. The CBPM will play a key role on the Commercialization team as the lead expert for their AOR on all Trade Spending, Trade Marketing, and all available Sales Enablement tools and strategies. The CBPM supports the organization by partnering with the field sales organization to deliver the revenue portion of the Annual Operating Plan. This person will leverage a variety of sources such as category trends, shipment data, sales and marketing plans as well as statistical baseline forecasts from Exceedra to guide discussions with RSM to drive fact-based decision making on adjustments to the annual plan and forecast. In addition, the CBPM works collaboratively across Sales, Category Growth, Consumer & Market Insights, and Finance, to continually improve the customer-facing selling tools and materials and to deliver on the organization’s key revenue objectives. The CBPM will also have key inputs into the annual sales planning process including trade strategy performance, new item planning, distribution plan implementation and regional considerations throughout the year. The CBPM will also serve as a key partner for the field sales organization in the development of the tools and processes needed to deliver sustainable, profitable category growth for our customers.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in account management or trade management in the food or beverage industry is required.
  • Experience with IRI or Nielsen data analysis is required.
  • Demonstrate effective and influential oral and written communications skills.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with employees, supervisors, and the general public.
  • Demonstrate excellent communications skills.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Strong presentation skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications or related field preferred.
  • Experience managing an annual business plan is preferred.
  • Customer selling experience is preferred.

  • Provide key inputs into the annual sales planning process including trade strategy performance, new item planning, distribution plan implementation and regional considerations throughout the year.
  • Serve as a key partner for the field sales organization in the development of the tools and processes needed to deliver sustainable, profitable category growth for our customers.
  • Lead the translation of the AOP revenue growth plan into actionable tactics that take into consideration the unique regional and customer dynamics that exist in the marketplace.
  • Partner with cross functional teams on strategy setting, annual execution planning and customer joint business planning.
  • Lead and coach Associated CBPM to achieve objectives and elevate sophistication and performance.
  • Monitor and update customers’ overall business plan, including managing trade budgets, spending and volume, to achieve all sales goals versus plan.
  • Lead monthly meetings with Sales leadership teams to gather information related to Risks and Opportunities to incorporate in the forecast.
  • Lead the joint business planning process with the customer with a focus on strategic expertise in the categories they represent.
