About The Position

This role involves leading a team overnight to ensure all replenishment activities are completed across the store. The manager will also be involved in prioritizing deliveries, organizing the warehouse, and replenishing shelves. A significant part of the role includes managing the entire store operation independently during the night shift, ensuring the safety and well-being of colleagues. The goal is to maintain high standards so the store is ready for customers in the morning. People management is crucial, encompassing performance and capability management, conducting disciplinary actions, and ensuring accurate scheduling and pay.

Requirements

  • A track record of delivering brilliant customer service and coaching colleagues to do the same.
  • Experience of leading a team in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment, including motivating others, driving performance, and keeping operations running smoothly.
  • Operational leadership skills, with experience taking responsibility for store operations in the absence of more senior managers.
  • Demonstrated success in meeting or exceeding KPIs (e.g., sales, availability, customer satisfaction, colleague engagement).
  • Experience managing employee relations issues, including performance and absence management.
  • Comfortable with nightshift working and adaptable to the physical and mental impact of these shift patterns.
  • Understanding the importance of providing a safe and healthy environment for their team.
  • Resilience to deal with both the mental and physical demands of working nights.
  • Ability to lead operations alone in the absence of more senior management.
  • Commitment to inclusivity.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous line management responsibilities in a fast-paced, operational environment.
  • Previous experience delivering and monitoring KPI's or other performance indicators.
  • Has worked night shifts in a high-volume, operational environment, adapted to the physical and mental demands of overnight working, and created a safe, supportive atmosphere for the team during out-of-hours trading.

Responsibilities
